Tradition x Digital - deliver the craftsmanship - Yuimarlu Okinawa-
Yuimarlu Okinawa Co., Ltd is starting a pilot project to increase the value of Okinawa's traditional crafts by conveying the thoughts of the craftsmen using the digital tool QMS TRACE. On October 23, 2024, a kickoff meeting was held at Yuimarlu Okinawa Head Office, where five local craftsmen gathered. The pilot period is scheduled to run until the end of March 2025.
First, President Suzuki of Yuimarlu Okinawa explained the background and purpose of the project. In an internet society where there is a lot of information, consumers are eager directly to learn about the craftsmanship by scanning the QR code created with QMS TRACE, it will lead to a path to new interest and purchasing desire. This was planned with the intention to increase the value of not only the crafts but also the traditions of Okinawa itself. In this pilot project, business transactions between craftsmen and Yuimarlu Okinawa are also digitalized, by using a digital invoice (Peppol e-invoice) linked to the product information created with QMS TRACE. This will also improve the administrative efficiency of all participants.
During the lecture on how to use QMS TRACE, each participant picked up their smartphone and began inputting informationin to the app. At first, participants had difficulty using the app, but they gradually got used to it and entered their own company's products and thoughts into the app to create QR codes for product information.
The participants scanned the completed QR code and intuitively felt how their messages for the product were conveyed to the buyer. We also conducted a demonstration of sending an invoice to Yuimarlu Okinawa.
Some of the products with QR codes attached will be available at Yuimarlu Okinawa from November and you can see QR attached products available at "The 99th Tokyo International Gift Show Spring 2025" on February 12-14th 2024.
